Open Data Camp it is an annual unconference in Bangalore that aims to provide a space to discuss the challenges and experiences of using data in India with the aim of promoting an open data culture in government and the private sector. The last two Data Camps had 180 people each who came together to share and understand data better.
The Camps are organized through a Google Group called DataMeet. DataMeet comprises a group of 700 people from across the country who use this group to share data, experiences, projects, and data tools to improve the access and understanding of data.
Bangalore Open DataCamp 2014 is going to be focused on data use during elections, we want to use this event to look at issues of access and uses of election related data, we also hope to explore how to improve data organization and sharing. There will also be a track for accountability data and journalistic use of data during elections.
